We are an independent, family run pub, who would like to offer weddings and celebratory functions without charging the huge amounts of money that often come with these events, we would like to get away from set menus and production line’ parties that offer little choice.
We are first and foremost a traditional pub in a fantastic location that offers good food cooked on site, with a varied selection of wines, cask beers and ciders. We welcome welly boots, dogs and people from all walks of life to our
home predominantly built from the beautiful local hamstone with flagstone.
Since 2013 we have been licenced for Civil Marriage Ceremonies and have restricted these to no more than 10 a year. The reason we did this is that each wedding we hold is bespoke and therefore they take more work to make it individual and fulfil the couples wishes.
If you are thinking of getting married here then we have both an outside and inside setting to offer, either the beautiful vaulted Chapel Room or Amy’s Garden. What we can offer is quite varied, so it is always worth coming up to The Prince of Wales and having a walk around and talk through the various options. This would of course be a “no obligation” visit but would hopefully give you a good idea of the possibilities for a very individual day.
The following will hopefully answer some of your questions, if they don’t then you know where we are please come up and see us, email or phone! We will be delighted to hear your plans and see if we can help you achieve them.
As we only hold a few weddings each year, and to allow them to run smoothly alongside the normal business of the pub, we do not hold them on Sundays, Bank Holidays, during December or through the Summer Holidays all other times are by arrangement.
Registrars: These must be booked and paid for independently and in the event of cancellation the registrars should be informed separately.
